Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Americold owns and operates 165+ temperature-controlled warehouses in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, China, Argentina, and Canada. Under general supervision, the clerk will perform varied clerical duties, requiring knowledge of office systems and procedures. These duties will be assigned in accordance with the office procedures of individual establishments and may include a combination of answering telephones, bookkeeping, typing or word processing, office machine operation, and filing.


Essential Functions:

    • Promote a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify safety concerns.
    • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
    • Respond to associates questions/concerns in a courteous, pleasant manner
    • Filing day to day payroll/personnel/medical/training/safety files with full confidentiality
    • Making files for new hires
    • Merging files for terminations
    • Record compliance
    • Auditing filing system
    • Inputing information in spreadsheets
    • Other duties as requested
    •  10 key, data entry skills



  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong team player with attention to detail
  • High school diploma or GED plus twelve months related training or experience
  • Be able to clearly communicate in English
  • Ability to interact professionally with employees and members of management
  • Ability to respond to associates who may be upset
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and fractions
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
  • Ability to meet multiple priorities and changing deadlines
  • Experience with MS Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Additional Skills:

    Contact within the organization involves obtaining or providing routine information and answering straightforward questions.


    Problem Solving:      

    Work requires some reasoning and planning in tasks that are straightforward, repetitive and involves different but related processes and methods. Some creativity and interpretation is required to choose the most appropriate course of action.



    The person in this job is expected to suggest innovations that affect this job to their supervisor/manager.



    Use specialized or technical methods or procedures or calculations requiring minimal training. Learning where and how to apply technical expertise is a major part of the job.



    Coordination is a continual part of the job. Priorities are changed to meet conflicting demands of the job. Cross trained in other areas for vacation relief.


    This job involves almost continual regulation and control of activities and resources involved in executing the on-going processes.


    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate is frequently required to sit, communicate clearly, use close vision, follow recommended ergonomic guidelines to alleviate repetitive motion concerns. Occasionally required to use distance vision, stand, kneel or crouch and lift, push or pull up to 30 pounds. Use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects; type and manipulate controls.


Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or at least one year related work experience
