    Primary Responsibility:
    The Communications Specialist will support the Director of Communications & Public Relations in the development and execution of Americold’s internal and external communications strategy, developing cohesive and compelling messaging in alignment with business goals to support the Americold story. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to drive highly visible, influential communications campaigns.

    Essential Functions:

    • Write and manage internal and external communications projects including, but not limited to newsletters, organizational announcements, presentations and articles
    • Develop content and messaging for multiple platforms
    • Provide media and public relations support
    • Develop internal and external communications
    • Must have at least three years of communications and writing experience in a corporate environment


    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
    • Minimum of three years of experience writing and editing for communications projects in a corporate or large organization environment

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Impeccable grammar, spelling and punctuation skills
      • Knowledge of AP style a plus
    • Comfortable with multi-tasking, managing multiple priorities and meeting several, often movable, deadlines under pressure
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
    • Excellent customer service orientation
    • Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, and willingness to take on new projects; and/or to initiate appropriate projects
    • Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in communicating with various levels of internal staff and external candidates
    • Capable of working collaboratively in team environment
    • Must be able to uphold confidentiality at all times

    Physical Requirements:

    • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions
    • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending
    • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work 
    • Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
    • May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business
    • May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds
