    Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibility:


    Ensure accounting processes, controls, and deadlines are completed in a timely manner. Supervise and lead day-to-day and monthly responsibilities of a team of two to three staff and/or senior level accountants.

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Overall supervision and review of a team of accountants and respective accounting functions including, but not limited to, site P&L’s, month-end close accruals, as well as certain corporate managed areas.
    • Ensure various positions and duties are completed timely on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
    • Proactively evaluate, train and manage employees.
    • Lead accounting resource for site operations and other corporate departments.
    • Assume leadership positions on special projects.
    • Stay abreast of developing accounting literature and assist with training and implementation.
    • Maintain, influence and direct accounting policies and guidelines.
    • Review and approve journal entries, analysis and reconciliations.
    • Supervise month-end close process, ensuring close deadlines are met, and alerting senior management of potential issues in a timely manner.
    • Prepare summaries of results for senior level management.
    • Prepare internal and external monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting packages.
    • Ensure adherence to accounting policies for consistency and compliance with GAAP and SOX controls.
    • Identify areas for potential efficiencies utilizing a process improvement mindset and proactively seek resolution to potential issues.
    • Other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education, Training & Professional Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA license preferred, at a minimum CPA path required
    • 2+ years of Big 4 or Tier 2 public accounting audit, including SOX testing, experience preferred
    • 5+ years of related accounting experience
    • 2+ years of experience supervising a team of individuals preferred
    • Thorough understanding of US GAAP
    • Experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and accounting software systems (SAP and BW experience preferred)
